Sun, beach and turquoise water – this is almost a 
matter of course when planning a holiday on the Côte d’Azur, to realize that this stretch of coast on the Mediterranean, like the holiday home Maison Azur, is rightly named.
But Provence – or PACA, the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region – offers much more. These are nature reserves, picturesque towns with endless streets, but also tourist magnets on the coast such as Saint Tropez , Frejus, Cannes and Nice .
In the immediate vicinity you will also find Grimaud and Port Grimaud , which is also known as “French Venice”, Cogolin and the Plaine de Maures nature reserve, which has many hiking trails.

If you look a little further, you reach the spectacular Gorges du Verdon and the Lac de Sainte-Croix and a little further the endless lavender fields of Valensole begin with towns like Manosque and Sisteron that are worth seeing .
Other highlights are the Abbaye du Thoronet , the ancient city of Olbia, or the Île de Porquerolles
Well-known cities such as Aix-en-Provence , Avignon or Marseille are certainly familiar to many.
It doesn’t matter whether you prefer the hustle and bustle of the lively cities, the famous markets, or the tranquility of the backcountry – if you want, you will find the right one! And you can’t cover everything with one holiday anyway.
In winter you can even reach the ski areas in the backcountry in 2 hours.
